Addtional notes: The arbitration which dragged on for 3 years has finally been settled at 1/3 of the pay originally owed to the affected crews. As of September, some 70 FOs have been furloughed and Captains downgraded to respond to the reduced flying coming from US Airways. The legal limits of the pilot contract are being pushed in order to seek new arbitration, and therefore clarification on some of the language within the contract. This directly translates into a burden on flight crews to do some accounting to verify that they are paid the right amount at the end of a month, and monitor their schedules so that they are not taken advantage of in terms of contractual duty time.
